Man handed two penalty fines for 240-mile round trip ‘to buy bread’

A man who was caught speeding on a motorway journey from London to Nottingham to buy bread has been fined. The man was in his car with his two young children. He was caught driving at 110mph on the motorway. When questioned by police, he told them he had been to London to buy bread

Driver speeding at 132mph during lockdown

Police have clocked a driver speeding at 132mph during lockdown. The car was recorded speeding on a stretch in North Yorkshire where the maximum speed limit is 70mph. The driver was stopped and reported for a speeding offence. Police say motorists are continuing to abuse quieter road conditions as a result of coronavirus-related travel restrictions.
